Privacy
Short and honest: MasMetal works without an account and collects as little as possible.
Scans and drawings
If you use the AI features, your photos or drawings first go to the MasMetal service (our own server at Cloudflare) and from there to Anthropic, the maker of Claude, which performs the analysis. The MasMetal service does not keep your images. It only keeps a counter for the free scan allowance. Anthropic does not use them to train AI models. If you do not use the AI features, nothing leaves your device.
Anonymous install ID
For that scan allowance the app uses an anonymous, random ID, purely as a counter. It cannot be linked to you, your device or your location.
Location
With your permission, the app uses your location to fill in your company address and to show steel suppliers near you. Apple converts your coordinates into an address through its map service, so those coordinates do leave your device. MasMetal itself does not store your location, only the address you confirm.
VAT number check
If you check a VAT number, the check runs through the public VIES service of the European Union. Only the VAT number is sent.
Emails from the app
Quote request, order, DXF and "Something wrong?" open a prefilled email, in the app or in your mail app. The app sends nothing by itself; you press send. Online pricing opens the 247TailorSteel or OrderOn website, where you upload the file yourself.
This website and cookies
This site sets no cookies and uses no tracking, no advertising and no third-party fonts or scripts. If you close the cookie notice, your browser remembers that (in your browser's local storage, not with us). The host (Cloudflare) only keeps standard server logs.
Becoming a tester and ideas
If you sign up as a tester or send an idea, your own mail app opens a prefilled message to support@masmetalapp.com. The site itself stores and sends nothing. We only use your email address to send you the TestFlight invitation or to reply to your idea. Ask us to delete your details and we will.
What we do not do
No accounts. No tracking. No advertising. No selling of data.
